Dean and Denise Schreifels- They are a unique combination of talent. Both have been in the construction industry for a combination of more than 45 years. They have even remodeled their own home of 30 years several times and neither one of them are afraid to get their hands dirty. Simple To Grand Design & Remodeling was born out of the love for the industry, by assisting homeowners with proven results of falling in love with their home all over again and bringing homes up to date with simple upgrades or grand remodels.
Dean- He's also the owner of Dean's Custom Design, Inc., which specializes in custom closet organizers & custom cabinetry solutions. Dean's business has been established for over 25 years & it continues to be a complimentary blend with Simple To Grand Design & Remodeling, LLC. Dean builds most of the custom vanities, surrounds, mantles & wall units himself. His creative talent was taught to him by his father at a very young age.
Denise- She holds the valid Minnesota General Contractors License for the business & highly experienced in the new home construction industry since 2002. She is the design and planning force of their team working with their client's lifestyle needs (and desires) helping them along with way with products, selections & colors. She has been seen on 22' of scaffolding installing siding, has even installed cultured stone on fireplaces & even operates power tools on occasion!
Together - they offer a wealth of knowledge, have many experienced years of "hands on" talent & will provide you a sense of comfort knowing they will be with you during the entire process. Their trusted & reliable sub-contractors have been a part of their team since the very beginning. This Apple Valley main floor remodel opened up our client's, once very cramped & closed off split entry kitchen & living room space. Tearing down a wall where their island & sink now overlook the living room enabled a fresh & inviting space for "living & socializing" to take place. Shaker style natural cherry cabinetry, new hardwood floors, a built in television nook for a large screen in the living room & new stair parts in the entry. We can't say enough good things about these clients & this project......we're confident it was everything they hoped for & allowing them to fall in love all over with the home that has been part of their lives for years.

A 28 year old foyer stairwell was dramatically updated by opening up a significant portion of the walls that surrounded the stairwell & closed in the entry way making it feel dark & boxed in. With gorgeous new stair parts & iron spindles this has become a masterpiece of the home which has created a bright, inviting space allowing light to pass through this whole new space! This was just one piece of the entire main floor remodel; stay tuned for more photos!

Our client had needs for their adult handicapped son to shower on his own. With limited space in the family's condo, we were able to utilized what once was a small corner shower & maximize the unused floor space to provide a large walk-in shower with plenty of safety rails, a hand held shower head, and the opportunity to add a portable bench for him to sit when needed. We've been told that he LOVES his new shower (as does everyone else in the house!)

ABOUT THE KITCHEN PHOTO ON THIS PAGE:
This Apple Valley kitchen remodel allowed the homeowner to remain in her childhood home. The remodel required certain elements not be changed. Starting with a custom designed hammered copper hood & new top of the line appliances for the chef of this family, the appliances were creatively designed with stunning custom distressed rustic cherry cabinets, 2 islands, farm sink, prep sink & all of the bells & whistles a chef could ask for. Hickory hardwood floors & new trim throughout the entire main level, new stair parts, new custom fireplace surround, entertainment center & a custom built rustic cherry kitchen table & bench sit at the end of the kitchen overlooking the family room. We couldn't be more blessed to have had the pleasure to enable this family to stay in the home they have known and loved for so many years.
